Bub at the Hub. Whew! - Show Review Jim "Beam"
Anderson, Norcal eTree
I didn't get tickets to RRE for Friday (or Saturday), so I stayed
local heading to Henflings to see some friends playing at one of
my regular haunts. I wasn't alone. Brett & Tracy, Penguin, Stacy,
and I think a few others from the SC area picked this as their back
up plan.
Dream Asylum opened. Derek Bodkin on drums and vocals. I also knew
the players from the BC Brewery; Peter on lead and Bruce on rhythm
guitar. They did an excellent job of getting the crowd rockin'.
After a great set that lasted over an hour the Dave Stein BubHub
came on. They sounded better than I had ever heard them before.
It blew my mind! more . . .
Throwing a "sexy party" at Hum Brews - Show
Preview Helen Wilson, Arcata Eye
This Saturday, November 19 the DAVE STEIN BUBHUB will perform at
Humboldt Brews, and listeners will have the opportunity to experience
some unique music. The band plays what Dave Stein, guitar/vocals/songwriting,
calls "groove rock funk" and says that it is a "sort
of derivative of the Grateful Dead". This band, however, always
tries to keep their music upbeat often creates what the band describes
as a "sexy party". "It's the mood that we create",
stated Stein, "It's sensual."
Stein believes that his band's success comes from "the synergy
between the members," and more . . .

Groove-driven funk and jam act THE DAVE STEIN BUBHUB is one of those
groups that just immediately jelled. Hailing from the Bay Area,
the group had already played 13 shows and recorded a four-song live-in-studio
demo within two months of forming. The band typically plays non-stop
sets, "creating a passionate and sensual party atmosphere encouraging
people to move and play." See them at 9 p.m. on Saturday
January 14 at the Frog and Peach. There's no cover. - Glen Starkey
CD Review of Tomorrow Still Has Me - EOM
Entertainment
"'Tomorrow Still Has Me' is the latest CD and it deserves
to be heard by anyone who loves classic-sounding rock and roll...
percolating...a canny fusion of 70's throwback Dave Matthews and
Santana... nods to early 70's Traffic . . . well,
you get the idea. Dave Stein has been in the business for a long
time and it shows in the fine craftsmanship of his recordings and
his ability to sell a song with sincerity." - Gina,
